\nThessaloniki & North Greece wine tour<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nAfter arrival at Thessaloniki\u2019s airport, your unique Greek wine experience begins with a
\nmeeting with a Greek wine expert and a transfer to one of the best city\u2019s hotels. A short
\nbriefing on the itinerary will be followed by an introduction to the Greek vineyard and its
\nwines, for a first, theoretical approach. Moving on from theory to practice we will have
\nan afternoon tasting of wines from the wider area of North Greece, accompanied by
\ncheese and cold cuts. The area of Macedonia and Thrace has been known since antiquity
\nfor their vineyards and their wine production. Xinomavro as the indigenous variety is
\ndominant here, mainly for the production of red wines with very good aging potential,
\nbut also for white and sparkling ones. After the wine tasting, free time at the city or
\ngoing at the hotel for the night rest.<\/p>\n
\nAfter breakfast we will visit one of the top Greek wineries, Domaine Gerovassiliou in
\nEpanomi area. The winery hosts the most important wine museum of Greece and the
\nlargest collections of corkscrews in the world. His modern wines are produced with
\ngrapes from sustainable vineyards. Right after, we will visit the unique vineyard
\nMarianna in Lakoma area, that is producing delicious products from vine leaves and
\ngrapes, for a whole new experience of what a vineyard can offer, besides wines. Moving
\nfurther on, we are visiting Mitroulis winery at Mikri Volvi to enjoy the unique setting near
\nby a lake and taste their wines produced by the oldest ever recorded Greek grape
\nvariety. Late afternoon, we are heading to Naoussa for the overnight stay in a beautiful
\nboutique hotel.<\/p>\n
\nAfter breakfast, we start our exploration in Naoussa region that the home of the most
\nimportant of Xinomavro, the most important red grape variety of North Greece and the
\nsecond in entire country. We will visit Dalamaras Winery, to meet the owners and taste
\ntheir delicious wines while getting informed of their really old wine making history and
\ntradition. Next visit to the Kir Yianni winery for more wine tasting of their famous wines,
\nas they are one of the oldest wine making families in entire Greece. Right after, we are
\nvisiting the most important ancient Greek museum in Vergina, where the palace of King
\nPhilip was (father of Alexander the great) to admire the palace and the unique museum.
\nThen, we are heading back to Thessaloniki\u2019s airport.<\/p>\n
